Cellulite Treatment

Dr. Vanek is one of the first physicians in Northeasty Cleveland, Ohio to offer cellulite treatment with a revolutionary new technology known as VASERsmooth™. For the 90% of women who have suffered with the appearance of cellulite, the wait for a “miracle” treatment is finally over thanks to this groundbreaking new procedure.

What Makes VASERsmooth so Unique?

VASERsmooth, unlike other cellulite treatments, is the only ultrasound technology that selectively treats the underlying problem of cellulite by releasing the fibrous bands of connective tissue and emulsifying fat cells that cause the skin to dimple and pucker giving that orange peel appearance of the skin known as cellulite. Once the fat cells are broken down and the fibrous bands are eliminated, the appearance of cellulite is diminished. Other techniques use lasers, which superheats all tissue at the same time without selectivity.

Dr. Vanek performs the treatments in his Mentor facility conveniently located on Cleveland’s east side.

What to Expect Before, During and After Your Cellulite Treatment

The VASERsmooth procedure begins by making a small incision – 1/8 of an inch. Next a numbing solution is administered beneath the skin. The VASERsmooth device, which uses ultrasound waves, emulsifies the fat cells and therefore the fibrous bands causing the appearance of cellulite are released. The VASERsmooth then delivers ultrasonic energy resulting in tighter, smoother, and thicker looking skin. Many patients have fat injections into their dimpled areas in order to improve the results of VaserSmooth released tissues.

After the treatment, most patients can go back to work and are encouraged to wear a compression garment for a few weeks. Initial results are noticeable the next day, but continue to improve over the next few months.

What is the Difference Between VASERsmooth and Cellulaze™?

When compared to a similar anti-cellulite technology called Cellulaze, VASERsmooth is proven to be quicker, more comfortable and a far less risk of nerve damage. The goal is to give you a great result with less risk. In addition, the VASERsmooth produces less bruising and has less downtime due to more advanced and less invasive technology. If you are considering a cellulite treatment, Dr. Vanek strongly recommends VASERsmooth over Cellulaze.

How Long is the Recovery for Cellulite Treatment?

Most patients recover very quickly following their cellulite treatments and are able to shower the next day. Of course there may be some bruising, but that is reduced by having you off agents that affect your platelets like Motrin, Asprin, Advil, and Alleve. These medications will be discussed at the time of your consultation. You will be likely placed on Arnica Montana – a homeopathic medicine to reduce your bruising. You will awaken from anesthesia in a compression garment that will be fitted for you in the office and Dr. Vanek will take with him to the OR. You will start some lymphatic massages a few days after surgery to help manage your tissues and help you to recover more quickly.

Walking and hydration are important after surgery. You can resume normal activities and driving a few days after the procedure, depending upon how many areas you have treated and what your job duties are. You’ll notice the difference the next day when Dr. Vanek removes your compression garment the first day and you look in the mirror. Your tissues continue to “shrink wrap” for up to 6 months.

When combined with VASERsmooth, VASER® liposuction can dramatically improve the areas of contour irregularities, unattractive dimples and skin rippling. VASER Lipo has been shown to improve skin contraction by 56% more than traditional liposuction, which was the subject of study by Dr. Vanek in collaboration with other surgeon scientists. That study was published in April 2012 in the scientific peer-reviewed journal Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. If you are ready to address the contour problems of your body in the premier body contouring practice in Ohio, then you should give Dr. Vanek a call. Your consult is the beginning of a journey to a better you.
